Providing positive guided imagery with messages of
self-esteem and safety. Helping clients to
manage stress, change bad habits or habits of thinking,
sleep better, overcome irrational fears... and much more.
Hypnotherapy is collaborative, centering on client goals and resources. Hypnosis is just one more tool, but an important one. It allows us, through gentle relaxation techniques, to access the unconscious mind where habits and fears live. Many neurological studies have reported that more than 90% of our brain activity is other-than-conscious. It is useful to have a technique that communicates with that level of brain activity. It can make new patterns of thinking or behavior feel like second nature,
easier and long lasting.
A client rehearses their desired change while under hypnosis. Suggestions are reinforced with hypnosis recordings to speed change and to create sustainable results.
Mary Heath, CH
I am a Certified Hypnotherapist with more than twenty years of experience and multiple advanced certifications in hypnosis. Before starting a successful private hypnosis practice in Natick, MA, I was the Director of a Positive Changes Hypnosis Center in Palatine, Il, part of an national franchise of hypnosis centers, founded by psychologist Dr. Patrick Porter.
My interest in mind/body work stems from an early career as a medical social worker, providing hospital individual and group counseling sessions. During that time, I was invited to attend the original series of seminars at the University of Pennsylvania introducing Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. It was taught by psychiatrist Dr. Aaron Beck, considered to be the father of CBT. That training was followed by an opportunity to become the Director of Medical Social Services at Crittenden Hospital in West Memphis, AK , a department that was recognized by the Johnson & Johnson Foundation.
Focus Hypnosis frequently collaborates with physicians, dentists, nurses, therapists, and other health and wellness professionals to support their existing treatment plans for patients or clients.
